About the Role
An opportunity exists for an experienced and enthusiastic Speech Pathologist to join our Community Based Rehabilitation service. This full time, temporary position until June 2020 is well supported by the Community Based Rehabilitation and Speech Pathology teams and has a diverse range of clients.
Duties
- Assessment and management of complex communication and swallowing disorders within the community rehabilitation setting
- Supervision of Grade 1 and 2 staff
- Clinical education
- Lead quality improvement
- Ensure safe and high quality patient care is delivered in line with Western Health values and policies
Skills & Experience
- Expertise in the assessment and management of complex communication and swallowing disorders within the community rehabilitation setting including advanced skills in cognitive assessments
- Strong leadership skills, including proven interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven ability to lead and supervise staff and students
- Highly developed interpersonal, written and electronic communication skills
- Commitment to continuous quality improvement, clinical research and professional development of self and others
- Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
- Eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia
