Western Health manages three acute public hospitals: Footscray, Sunshine and Williamstown Hospital. It also operates the Sunbury Day Hospital, Transition Care at Hazeldean and a range of community based services. We care for a culturally diverse population of more than 800,000 people. Our continued growth will see the completion of a new purpose built, multi-storey Joan Kirner Women's and Children's Hospital.
About the Role
The Department of Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine at Western Health provides services for approximately 30,000 Surgical procedures and >5,500 deliveries a year. With the exception of Cardiac, all surgical specialities are represented. In addition, the Anaesthetic Department runs a busy acute and chronic pain service, teaching program and is actively involved in ongoing research and audit.
The Department employs 28 Registrars at any one time - rotating through the North Western and Southern Rotational Programs and Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine Training Schemes.
The Department has eight (8) Registrar positions available for provisional fellows and/or anaesthesia trainees not affiliated with a Victorian rotational training program and with a minimum of 12 months accredited experience in anaesthesia in Australia or Overseas.
Potential fellowship streams include: Principle & Welfare Fellowship, Obstetric Fellowship, Perioperative and CPX Fellowship and Simulation Fellowship.
