About the Role
These fixed term Full or Part Time Emergency Medical Officer positions offer a unique opportunity to be part of a team supervised by 23 FTE Emergency Physicians. Rotations are spread between the Emergency Departments of two campuses (Sunshine and Footscray – both located within 20 minutes of the CBD) which are both accredited by the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (ACEM) for Advanced Training.
There is active on the floor Consultant leadership, supervision and education from 0800hrs – 2400hrs, seven days a week. There is also ample access to scheduled teaching sessions, rostered time for WBA completion, and programs for Primary and Fellowship Exams with excellent success rates. Opportunities exist to be involved in Quality Improvement activities, as well as research through the Joseph Epstein Centre for Emergency Medicine Research with potential for presentations and publication. Rotations to Intensive Care, Anaesthetics, Addiction Medicine, Simulation Medicine and Trauma amongst others can be arranged depending on availability.

- Australian Trained Medical Graduates: General Registration with AHPRA and completion of a minimum of 2 years Full Time medical employment
- International Medical Graduates: Limited/Provisional/General Registration with AHPRA and completed a minimum of 2 years Full Time medical employment (Australian experience desirable). Must be eligible for AHPRA Competent Authority Pathway or have passed AMC MCQ Part 1 and achieved a ranking of 7 or above in IELTs (listening, reading, writing and speaking)
Appointment level will be according to qualifications and experience.
