About the Role

An opportunity exists for an accounts receivable officer to join our Revenue team in Finance at Western Health. This role is for a full time position.

The successful applicant will have demonstrated experience in a high volume accounts receivable environment. With previous billing and debt collection practice including experience in patient account enquiries, liaising with health funds, all aspects of Medicare claiming, insurance companies and third party debtors.  The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Revenue Supervisor and Revenue manager.  You will have advanced communication skills and a customer service oriented approach. The candidate will also possess high level computer skills, exposure to billing, collection systems and Excel.

Successful candidates who are selected for an interview may be required to undergo an aptitude test.  Further details will be provided to the candidate if they are selected. 

To be successful for this role, you must have the following skills and experience:

• High level accuracy & attention to detail
• Excellent numeric and written skills and ability to prioritise tasks
• Excellent computer skills
• Advanced excel skills
• Ability to work in a team
• Excellent communication skills, with a professional telephone manner

Desirable experience:

• Previous experience working in a health accounts or hospital environment
• Previous experience in electronic Medicare claims Eclipse and Medicare resubmissions. 
• Knowledge of patient billing, health fund contracts
• Knowledge of Medicare
• Knowledge of Patient Management System and/or account receivables software

The position is fulltime, 8:00am-4.30pm, located at the Footscray Hospital.
