Position Summary

A unique opportunity exists for an experienced social worker to join Western Health on a temporary basis in the Health Equity Project Officer role. This leadership role supports the Health Equity Project Lead to continue to embed the Strengthening Hospital Responses to Family Violence (SHRFV) initiative, achieve compliance with Child Safe Standards, and implement the Information Sharing Scheme, across Western Health and as required, to partner sites – Kyneton District Health Service and Djerriwarrh Health Service.

The Health Equity Project Officer provides professional leadership in the areas of family violence and child safeguarding, including secondary clinical consultations and reporting activities for the Health Equity Steering Group and DHHS. The Health Equity Project Officer represents Western Health at DHHS events and undertakes other tasks and responsibilities within the scope of practice as requested. The Health Equity Project Officer is also a member of the Social Work Department’s Senior Leadership Team and contributes to professional and service development of the Social Work Department.

To be Successful in this Role you

  • have a minimum 7 years clinical social work experience preferably in family violence
  • exhibit sound leadership skills, experience and behaviour
  • demonstrate highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • maintain project management skills and experience
  • be able to manage complex clinical decision making
  • have experience in delivering education and training
