About the Role

Drug Heath Services is seeking an experienced Non-Residential Withdrawal Registered Nurse ( NRWN) to provide high quality nursing support within the Womens Day Rehabilitation Program. This presents an exciting opportunity to work in a therapeutic environment supporting women to prepare and transition into the program.

The NRWN provides nursing support to women undergoing withdrawal, reduction and /or stabilization from drugs or alcohol in an outpatient / outreach capacity.   This role also includes clinical assessment and management, psychosocial support and discharge planning including referral to and shared care models with community service providers. The provision of information, education and support to the woman’s family, other caregivers or support persons is an integral part of this position

The successful candidate will have a high level of written and verbal communication skills; a passion for working with women; values a cohesive team environment; a drive to ensure best care for an often marginalised group; excellent engagement skills; experience with alcohol and other drug issues; a desire to role model high level practice skills and support other staff to attain excellence in practice.

To be Successful in this Role you

  • Registered Div 1  or Div 3 Nurse registered with the Victorian Nurses Registration Board
  • Extensive experience in AOD
  • Providing non-residential nursing support to women requesting admission to the Womens Day Rehabilitation Program
  • Have experience working in a multidisciplinary team and a range of key stakeholders
