Williamstown Hospital Emergency Department is a modern department servicing the Williamstown and broader community which forms part of Western Health.  The Williamstown Emergency Department sees adults and children generally with less severe injuries or illness. 

Suitable applicants must have:

  • Medical Practitioner holding a current and General Registration with the AHPRA
  • Advanced Life Support –current qualification
  • Minimum of two (2) years emergency medicine experience in a Registrar or Senior Hospital Medical Officer role.
  • Completed at least 4 years post graduate degree
  • Past working experience of no less then then two (2) years within an Australian Medical Hospital System (highly desirable)
  • Proven interpersonal and team skills
  • Commitment to quality patient care and safety
  • Interest in adult and paediatric emergency medicine
  • Commitment to up skill their clinical practice in emergency medicine

This position would be suitably ideal for a Registrar who has chosen the emergency medicine pathway without the desire to complete the Fellowship examination.

This role will be expected to rotate to different emergency departments within Western Health as required and will report directly to the Director of Emergency.

Qualifications:

  • MBBS/MD/MBChB Qualifications
  • Full Registration with the Medical Practitioner Board of Australia - Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency: AHPRA (General Registration).
  • Provisional Registration will also be considered

Western Health is seeking:

Australian Trained Medical Graduates who have completed a minimum of 4 years fulltime medical employment post MBBS graduation.

  • International Medical Graduates who have completed a minimum of 2 years full time medical employment in Australia and currently holding their General Registration following the AMC Examinations and required rotations.  Completion of a similar role within an Australia Hospital environment.

Salary : Competitive remuneration including salary packaging will be negotiated with the successful applicant in accordance with the AMA - Doctors In Training Award.
