About the Role

An opportunity exists for an experienced Speech Pathologist to join our dynamic and innovative Community Based Rehabilitation at Western Health. Based at Sunshine Hospital, this full time, locum position (ceasing 30/06/2019) is well supported by the Speech Pathology and multidisciplinary teams and has a diverse range of clients.

Duties

  • Assessment and management of communication and swallowing disorders within the community rehabilitation.
  • Supervision of Grade 1 staff
  • Clinical education
  • Contribute to and/or lead quality improvement
  • Ensure safe and high quality patient care is delivered in line with Western Health values and policies

 Skills & Experience

  • Expertise in dysphagia and communication assessment/management within the subacute and/or community rehabilitation setting
  • Highly developed interpersonal, written and electronic communication skills
  • Commitment to continuous quality improvement, clinical research and professional development of self and others
  • Experience with staff and/or student supervision will be highly regarded.
