Your New Team

The Division of Mental Health and Wellbeing Services spans across multiple Western Health sites and within the local community and services consumers across the lifespan.
The Division has recently been established following a key recommendation from the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System. The Western Health catchment includes the local government municipalities and growth areas of Brimbank, Sunbury, Maribyrnong and Melton.
Our recovery-oriented approach to care is provided by a multidisciplinary workforce comprising skilled clinicians, consumers and carers. These services include hospital based, community and specialist mental health and wellbeing services for adults, older adults, children and adolescents who are experiencing, or are at risk of developing a serious mental illness.
The Division collaborates across a number of Divisions within Western Health and partners with external health services and community services to ensure the provision of Best Care.  
The Division aims to innovate and develop services and care options across Western Health to ensure Best Care for the community of Western Melbourne. 

Your New Role

  • This is an exciting opportunity to continue to grow and lead specialist Mental Health programs at Sunshine Hospital and St Albans
  • You will be leading a team of experienced clinicians in the delivery of specialist perinatal and child and adolescent mental health services as well and women's mental health
  • Your Multi-disciplinary team includes an enthusiastic range of mental health professionals all striving to work together to achieve the best outcomes for our consumers
  • Be the driver of the development of leading-edge service models
  • Co-ordinate and deliver new quality initiatives in collaboration with consumers and carers
  • Your success in this role, will be in your ability to manage, lead and develop all aspects of the team

About You

  • Experience in managing complex dynamic initiatives and planning activities
  • Highly developed analytical skills
  • Demonstrated experience in leadership and strategic planning
  • Demonstrated experience in project management skills including planning, coordinating, implementing and evaluating initiatives 
  • Excellent people management skills with ability to successfully manage, coach, mentor and develop individuals who contribute to forming, flexible, resilient and effective teams
  • High level of verbal and written communications including negotiation skills and ability to resolve conflicts, competing demands and prioritizing resources
  • Significant clinical experience/expertise within mental health sector
  • Ability to work closely with the Lead Consultant Psychiatrist to provide clinical leadership and governance to the team
