About the Role

Joan Kirner Women’s and Children’s/Sunshine Hospital at Western Health has a vacancy for 1 Junior Unaccredited Obstetrics and Gynaecology Registrars - Nights.

These positions are within our Emergency Department and will be on a 7 day on 7 day off roster for a 6 month period commencing in September 2019. These positions are not RANZCOG accredited positions so would suit someone looking to further their O & G experience in the ED setting whilst enjoying the benefits of a week on week off roster.

Clinical duties of the junior Obstetrics and Gynaecology Registrar will include:

  • Assessment of patients presenting to ED with pregnancy or gynaecology conditions
  • Liaison with on-duty O&G registrars as appropriate
  • Escalation to on-call O&G consultant if required
  • Co-ordination of assessment and care of patients requiring multi-disciplinary care (Surgery, general medicine and others)
  • Handover – evening and morning handover from on-call and ED O&G registrars.
  • Documentation of non-admitted and admitted patients.
  • Auditing of all O&G presentations
