Position Summary |
We take pride in providing the essential services that support healthcare, serving one million residents in the West. Western Health is looking for a Plant Operator/Fitter to assist the Facilities Management team in maintaining our complex Hospital infrastructure. The role will include working on our ventilation, air-conditioning, hot water, emergency, safe drinking water and safe sterilisation systems. The role is a very diverse, however is well supported by a team of other trades. As the work will vary on any given day this is a great opportunity for someone who thrives on daily changes. The role is currently based at Footscray Hospital however willingness to work at our other facilities in Williamstown, Sunshine, Sunbury and Altona Commercial Kitchen is required.
To be Successful in this Role you will require
- 5 years Trade Qualification Experience in the maintenance / service industry and preferably in a Hospital or Complex Building Maintenance department
- Experience with HVAC and reticulation systems
- Familiarity with emergency procedures for maintenance of all mechanical systems
- Familiarity with Customer Service Principles
- A current drivers licence
- Participation with the On Call roster as required so therefore will require operational knowledge of fire detection and sprinkler systems
