This position will be responsible for accurate, timely and financially responsible coding and DRG analysis including auditing, Casemix educational activities and data reporting. The position is also responsible for participating in regular documentation audits and associated education programs and other Service activities. Additional duties may be available dependent on the successful applicant’s interest and experience.
The Clinical Coding Service at Western Health has a well established educational program and provides ongoing support and development to all coding staff.
New graduates will be considered for this role which will be primarily based at Williamstown Hospital.

What do you need for the role:
- A recognised qualification in Health Information Management (or equivalent) or Clinical Coding.
- Eligible for full membership of the Health Information Management Association of Australia.
- Demonstrable knowledge of Australian and Victorian Coding standards and related advice.
- Understanding of the Victorian Casemix Funding Model.
- Understanding of the Victorian Admitted Episode Dataset, Admission Policy and Policy and Funding Guidelines.
- Demonstrate competency in a range of software applications e.g. PICQ, 3M CodeFinder, Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated ability to learn and understand new systems.
- Demonstrate high standard of organisation, communication, attention to detail and interpersonal skills.
