About the Role

Western Health has an excellent reputation of providing Graduate Nurses with a smooth transition from student to Registered Nurse. We achieve this by providing a multi-layered support structure from Clinical Educators through to Preceptors. We offer an extensive orientation at the commencement of the program, two further graduate study days during the year and frequent graduate specific in-service sessions. In our supportive environment we provide each Graduate Nurse with 2 clinical rotations over our multiple sites. Our Graduate Nurses are encouraged to preference these to assist building an individualised program.

Essential Criteria

  • Completed a Nursing Bachelor degree in the acedamic year January 2023 to June 2024

To Apply

Applicants are asked to complete a three-step process:

 

Step 1: Apply to PMCV (gnmp.pmcv.com.au) using the Computer Match system listing Western Health amongst your preferences.

 

Step 2: Apply to Western Health using the online process. Each application must include:

  • Cover letter (no more than one page). 
  • Concise curriculum vitae including a list of all undergraduate clinical placements (hospital, type of ward/experience and number of days).
  • Nominate TWO referees (preferably clinical referees).
  • A certified transcript of all results (key to results to be included).
  • Complete copies of two recent acute clinical appraisals. Where two recent acute clinical appraisals are not available, one should be from a recent adult acute placement from second year (if you haven’t had a placement in adult acute in third year). The other clinical appraisal can be from any other clinical placement. You need to submit your summative appraisals from each clinical placement (include cover page). If you don’t have an acute adult placement from second or third year you can use a sub-acute placement.   • PMCV will be collecting the references.
