About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Gastroenterology Nursing team at Western Health. As a member of the team the Gastroenterology Nurse Coordinator will work within the multidisciplinary team to provide clinical specialist nursing support to patients who are managed through the Units clinics; efficiently and effectively coordinate and manage research activities within the Unit; provide clinical support across the Unit's activities which include identifying, developing and promoting opportunities in collaboration with medical specialists for more effective models of care, service delivery and system improvements that would enhance the patient experience and ensure an effective, responsive operation; assist in developing and maintaining a clinical database.

This posiiton is also at the forefront of the provision of hepatitis management for Western Health so previous experience in managing, supporting and educating patients who are living with hepatitis will be highly regarded. The successful applicant will be required to work closely in a shared care model with the Hepatology Lead, treating specialists, primary care partnerships and other key hospital and community based services in order to provide care to inpatients and outpatients.

Skills & Experience OR Essential Criteria

The successful applicant will have highly developed written and oral communication skills as well as highly developed organsiational, critical thinking, assessment and analytical skills; have demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidsciplinary team; demonstrated autonomous practice, project management skills and preferably have experience in clinical research and ethics applications.

While this position is 0.9 EFT consideration would be given to a job sharing situation if there were two suitable applicants.

Selection Criteria Essential: Are you eligible to work within Australia?
