About the Role

Acting Grade 3 Mammographer- 12 month maternity leave contract

Western Health Medical Imaging (WHMI)

The acting Grade 3 Mammography Radiographer will play an integral role in the delivery of mammography imaging services across Sunshine and Footscray Hospitals. They will ensure the service runs to optimal efficiency including Breastscreen.

The successful candidate needs to demonstrate extensive knowledge and skill sets within the area of Mammography and Breastscreen.

You will be passionate about patient care ensuring clinical excellence is upheld.

The role will cover day to day tasks that involve the efficient operational performance of both the Diagnostic and Breast screen services. Excellent communication skills are key for this role as extensive inter and intradepartmental communication will occur.  The successful candidate will foster relationships between WH breast clinics, Breast screen (BSV) and a large co hort of Nursing and Clinical staff. 

The role will also incorporate planning and booking utilisation rates for Breast screen ensuring KPI’s are met.

The successful candidate will be responsible for Image QA, training and development of staff.

An exciting opportunity will also be preparing documentation and planning for equipment replacement in conjunction with WH management and contract procurement staff.

Our state of the art digital imaging equipment includes:

  • Multi Slice CT’s, with extremely fast scan times and imaging, CT examinations cover ultra-low dose cardiac imaging, colonography, body, neuro, vascular and orthopaedic imaging examinations.
  • 3T and 1.5T rebateable MRI scanners covering body imaging, musculoskeletal, neuro and paediatric imaging.
  • Digital Dual Flat Plate radiography units, Digital flat plate Fluoroscopy and
  • Digital Mammography. These provide leading edge quality imaging at a reduced radiation dose to both patient and staff.
  • Breastscreen Mammography SECTRA unit.
  • State of the art Ultrasound systems

Skills & Experience

  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Radiation User Licence  (Vic)
  • CCPM BSV
  • Working with Children’s Check (WWC)
  • Eligble to work in Australia
