About the Role

Western Health Aged Care Assessment Service Manager

Full Time Limited Tenure – June 2020

  • Full Time role including ADO 
  • Registered Nurse or Allied Health professional role.

The Western Aged Care Assessment Service (ACAS) operates within the Division of Community Services at Western Health, under the Aged Care Assessment Program Guidelines from the Department of Social Services and the Department of Health and Human Services.

The work of the ACAS team is vital to ensure that those in need of both community services and residential care are accurately assessed and supported to make this transition in a timely and supported way. The WH ACAS are a highly regarded senior multidisciplinary workforce in which family centred best practice is the key driver of success.

The ACAS service operate out of the Footscray location with staff members both within the inpatient setting and in the community undertaking the process of assessment of clients for Commonwealth supported programs.

The role of ACAS Manager is highly regarded within Western Health with management responsibility for 29 FTE focusing upon staff growth and development, client outcomes and operational outcomes such as budget control, workforce recruitment and achievement of timeframe to care key measures of success.

Selection Criteria Desirable: At least 5 years’ experience leading large multidisciplinary workforce teams (over 40 FTE)
Desirable: Previous experience managing large scale budgets (over $3m annually)
Desirable: Held role in Aged Care assessment service
Desirable: Held delegates status in My Aged Care System
