About the Role

An exciting opportunity is available for an enthusiastic and motivated individual with excellent planning and well-developed communication skills to work in a dynamic and high performing team environment. This role will provide support and guidance to the Data Assurance Team responsible for managing the timely and accurate submission of mandatory datasets.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, in depth understanding of DHHS business rules and policies, as well as the ability to develop productive relationships with key business stakeholders, including Executive Management, Clinical and Non-Clinical Directors. Other essential attributes include strong computer skills, well-developed presentation and communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, the ability to work in a team and to manage competing demands.

The key responsibilities of this role besides managing the WH Data Assurance Program, include monitoring and reporting on WH progress against audit recommendations conducted on behalf of DHHS or by WH internal consulting auditors, act as the key WH contact for all dataset audits, in addition to providing assistance and guidance to business areas in relation to data compliance.

Duties

  • Manage the WH Data Assurance Program ensuring Dataset Framework reviews and internal data audit processes are conducted.
  • Act as the key WH contact for all dataset audits conducted on behalf of DHHS or by WH internal consulting auditors.
  • Monitor and report on WH progress against audit recommendations conducted on behalf of DHHS or by WH internal consulting auditors.
  • Lead the Data Assurance Team to effectively manage DHHS mandatory datasets, ensuring error management and education are completed as required and error free data is submitted to DHHS within stated time frames.
  • Effectively communicate and manage annual DHHS policy and business rule changes with relevant WH staff

Essential Criteria

  • Relevant tertiary qualification and/or proven success in a similar role.
  • Previous experience in public health or healthcare environment.
  • Understanding of the DHHS mandatory reporting requirements, the Policy and Funding Guidelines and Victorian Admission Policy.
  • Developed skills in the extraction, analysis and reporting of data, with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent computer skills including well developed knowledge of MS Office products.
  • Possess the ability to manage competing demands with a structured approach to problem resolution.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a consultative approach and a proven ability to build productive working relationships with a range of stakeholders and work as part of a team.
