About the Role

Seeking an experienced Grade 2 Clinical Pharmacist on an ongoing full time basis at Footscray Hospital with outstanding clinical and interpersonal skills and demonstrated willingness to develop and maintain their own knowledge.  The successful applicant will contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance of innovative Pharmacy Services.  This will be a rotational position across clinical wards and dispensary services.

This position presents an exciting and unique opportunity for a pharmacist to expand and develop their clinical and organisational skills.

Duties

  • Provide expert professional knowledge to ensure that patient outcomes are optimised by working to achieve the best quality use of medicines.
  • Provide expert clinical pharmacy advice to a range of clinical specialties.
  • Support prescribers and patients to maximise clinical benefits of drugs whilst minimising unwanted side effects.
  • Assist the Clinical Pharmacy Co-ordinator in orientating and mentoring clinical pharmacy staff.
  • Support the educational and operational activities of the department, such as quality assurance activities and practice research projects.

  • Broad experience in providing high quality clinical pharmacy services
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent information technology skills
