About the Role

An opportunity exists for an experienced Accounts Receivable officer to join our Revenue team in Finance at Western Health. This role is for a casual position (3 days per week)  for leave replacement with the potential for a permanent position in future.  

The successful applicant will have demonstrated experience in a high volume accounts receivable environment. With previous billing and debt collection practice including experience in patient account enquiries, liaising with health funds, insurance companies and third party debtors.  Previous experience with billing of private and Medicare Ineligible health funds will be looked upon favourably.  The role includes working closely with Medicare Ineligible patients billing and collection portfolio.  The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Team leader and Revenue manager.  You will have advanced communication skills and a customer service oriented approach. The candidate will also possess high level computer skills, exposure to billing, collection systems and Excel.

Successful candidates who are selected for an interview will be required to undergo an aptitude test.  Further details will be provided to the candidate if they are selected. 

To be successful for this role, you must have the following skills and experience:

  • Must have previous experience working in a health accounts or hospital environment
  • Knowledge of patient billing, health fund contracts and member eligibility
  • Excellent computer skills and intermediate excel skills
  • High level accuracy & attention to detail, excellent numeric skills and ability to prioritise tasks
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Excellent communication skills, with a professional telephone manner
  • Knowledge of iPM and/or account receivables software is required

The position is casual, hours will be between 8:00am-4.30pm,  3 days a week, located at the Footscray Campus.
