Registered Nurse – Intensive Care & Coronary Care

Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

The Intensive Care Service at Western Health provides care to general medical/surgical adult patients, with a pre-dominant medical patient mix. There are 2 Units at separate Campuses, operating a total of 18 ICU bed equivalents. The Footscray ICU has 14 physical bed spaces, and Sunshine ICU has 13 physical bed spaces that are all specifically designed and equipped to provide physiological monitoring and life supporting therapies to patients with a critical illness.
Duties
- Provide exceptional care to patients and their families
- Site based at either our Footscray or Sunshine campus
- Participate in multidisciplinary discussions involving patient care
- Work within your scope of practice
- Ensure safe and high quality patient care is delivered in line with Western Health values and policies.
Skills & Experience OR Essential Criteria
- Be eligible for registration as a Registered Nurse in Australia and hold current registration to practice as a nurse with AHPRA
- Possess relevant post graduate qualification in Intensive / Critical Care, Emergency or Cardiac Care
- Flexible with roster availabilities
- A commitment to high quality, safe and patient centred care

Coronary Care Unit (CCU)

The Western Health Cardiology Unit provides inpatient and outpatient cardiac services across both Footscray and Sunshine hospitals. Each site has a Cardiac Care Unit (CCU), Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratories (CCL), one at Footscray hospital and two at Sunshine hospital and a Non Interventional Cardiac Diagnostic Unit.
Duties
- Ensure safe and high quality patient care is delivered in line with Western Health values and policies
- Promote ongoing learning and education for all staff in the unit
- Able to act as nurse in charge of unit
- Provide exceptional care to patients in acute Cardiac Care setting
- Competent in Advanced Life Support (ALS) to facilitate care and transport of monitored patients
Skills & Experience OR Essential Criteria
- Successful completion of a Bachelor of Nursing qualification or equivalent
- Registration as a Registered Nurse in Australia
- Possess relevant post graduate qualifications in the area of critical care nursing
- A commitment to high quality, safe and person centred patient care
