Position Summary

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Return to Work (RTW) Coordinator to work within Western Health’s OHS, Wellbeing and Emergency Management Unit. You will be employed on a permanent part time basis, 16 hours per week working mainly at our Sunshine site but may need to travel to other campuses.

The OHS, Wellbeing and Emergency Management Unit, forms part of the People, Culture and Communications Division and provides a range of services to management and staff across all areas of Western Health such as occupational health and safety management, risk management, WorkCover management, rehabilitation/return to work programs, health and wellbeing programs and strategic coordination of emergency/disaster  management.

The OHS, Wellbeing and Emergency Management team are committed to working as a partner with management and staff to help achieve Western Health’s goals and objectives.

We are looking for a person with:

  • Recent experience with an Agent or a large employer as a RTW Coordinator/Specialist or Case Manager
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Workplace Injury, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013
  • Thorough practical understanding and experience in effective management of RTW
  • An understanding of common injuries, treatment options and medical terminology
  • Ability to coordinate the process of injured worker’s RTW as quickly and safely as possible
  • Demonstrated ability to assist with effective delivery of operational compliance in accordance with the legislation
  • Experience in managing complex RTW cases through early identification of RTW barriers and implementation of effective strategies
  • Experience with facilitating RTW for workers with a psychological injury is desirable
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service to a wide range of clients and stakeholders
