About the Role
Seeking an enthusiastic Grade 2 Physiotherapist to join our Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) team in the neurology/aged care stream on a part time (45.6 hours per fortnight), temporary basis (maternity leave position) ceasing 15/03/2020
- Temporary part time (0.6 eft, 45.60 hours per fortnight)
- Contribute to the ongoing development of junior staff and students
- Well supported by experienced and dedicated senior clinicians
- Strong focus on research and quality improvement, and participation in ongoing professional development
An exciting opportunity exists for a Grade 2 Physiotherapist with excellent clinical skills in neurological and aged care rehabilitation to join the CBR service at Western Health. This position will be based across both sites; Sunshine and Williamstown Hospitals. This is a part time temporary maternity-leave position until 15/03/2020.
Duties
- Deliver effective individual, group and hydrotherapy programs for clients with a variety of neurological, vestibular and age-related conditions
- Responsible for the supervision of junior staff and students through Western Health’s clinical school
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team
- Ensure safe and high quality patient care is delivered in line with Western Health values and policies
- Contribute to ongoing research and quality improvement activities
- Potential involvement in hydrotherapy
- Provide predominantly centre-based therapy with occasional home-based sessions where indicated
- Supervision of rotating junior physiotherapists and allied health assistants
- Be proactive about identifying and addressing issues that interfere with patients receiving Best Care through the Physiotherapy quality program.
Essential Criteria
- Applicants must be currently registered as a Physiotherapist with AHPRA
- Hold a valid Victorian drivers licence and a Working with Children check
