About the Role

Ward 2C - General Medicine, Rheumatology & Dermatology

The Emergency, Medicine and Cancer Division is the largest within the Operations Directorate with over 940 EFT, a budget of $123 million, and spans across all Western Health campuses. The Division comprises eight inpatient wards, a day oncology unit, three emergency departments, dialysis - two in centre services, three satellites and a home therapies unit, discharge lounges, medical day units, palliative care consultancy service, radiation therapy centre, oncology research and project services. The division is also comprised of 12 medical units, including emergency medicine, general medicine, cancer services, nephrology, neurology, stroke, gastroenterology, respiratory medicine, infectious diseases, endocrinology, drug health services, rheumatology and immunology.

Ward 2C is a 25 bed unit at Footscray specialising in the care of patients under General Internal Medicine, Rheumatology & Dermatology which is responsible for admitting acute patients from ED, ICU, and CCU. The unit focuses on the quality of patient care and has a strong emphasis on teamwork across all disciplines of the healthcare team to achieve the best possible outcome for our patients.

We are looking for an enthusiastic registered nurse to join our team on a permanent part time basis and meets the relevent criteria:

  • Successful completion of a Bachelor of Nursing qualification or equivalent
  • Registration as a Registered Nurse in Australia
  • Minimum of one year’s full-time or equivalent experience as a Registered Nurse
  • Possess excellent clinical skills
  • Effective organisational skills, with respect to time management and delegation
  • Well developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to practice collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary health care team
  • Demonstrated evidence of undertaking professional development activities to maintain and enhance nursing expertise
