About the Role
Western Health's Drug Health Services has a new opportunity for an experienced AOD Clinician to join the multidisciplinary team running our Women’s Therapeutic Day Rehabilitation (TDR) Program. This is a part time ongoing position. The Women’s TDR Program runs an innovative model of care, encompassing core drug and alcohol and life skills group work, as well as a range of adjunct therapies. There is an emphasis on role modelling prosocial behaviours.
As the AOD Clinician you will work closely with women to assess their eligibility, identify their treatment needs, and develop safe and well-co-ordinated plans. You will be involved in running groups throughout the 6 week course of treatment, as well as providing one-on-one counselling support to women. You will also be involved in developing discharge plans, and facilitating access to appropriate treatment post-discharge.
Skills & Experience
As the AOD Clinician you will have experience assessing clients with complex co-morbidities, a sound knowledge of the Victorian AOD Treatment System and Harm Minimisation policy framework. You will have experience providing group and one-on-one interventions, and have competence in risk assessment and intervention. You will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, and will be committed to working collaboratively within a client-centred model of care. You will have tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Nursing or equivalent health/welfare qualification, and have the minimum four competencies in Alcohol and Other Drugs, or a willingness to undertake such, as well as a Victoria Drivers Licence.
