Position Summary

About the Role

The Health Support Services Department is currently seeking experienced Team Leaders to join our Patient Services Assistant / Environmental team to support the expansion of our Emergency Department at Sunshine Hospital.

The position will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and smooth operation of all aspects of the PSA & Environmental teams within the Emergency Department. Responsibilities will include maintaining a high level of patient Care, supervision of staff, cleanliness and efficient rostering.

The successful applicants must be able to prioritise workloads, be highly motivated and dedicated to delivering a high standard of cleaning, attention to detail and be able to work effectively in a team environment without supervision

Applicants must be available to work across all Western Health Sites if needed and be able to work all shifts which include morning, afternoon, night and weekends.

Applicants must have a minimum of 12 months experience working in a Patient Services Assistant (PSA) role or equivalent.

To be Successful in this Role you require:

  • Certificate III in Health Services Assistant (HLT33115)
  • Be available to work various shifts.
  • A reasonable level of physical fitness.
  • High standards and excellent attention to detail in all aspects of cleaning.
  • Cleaning experience in a hospital environment or large industry.
  • Ability to work as a team member in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Ability to work in a self-directed manner and prioritise workload
  • Adopts a customer service approach in dealing with staff, patients and visitors
  • Courteous, honest and professional manner
  • Demonstrated skills in communicating effectively with people
  • Strong personal work ethic, initiative and service orientation
