Position Summary

About the Role

The Women’s & Children’s (W&Cs) Services Neonatal Clinical Practice Improvement Specialist is a role for a professional clinical facilitator who will provide leadership, planning, delivery and implementation of clinical improvement strategies within the Special Care Nursery and assist in the planning for a Level 6A NICU in the Joan Kirner Women’s and Children’s Hospital. The role also has a component of Quality with the ability to implement and evaluate clinical improvement strategies in Neonatal Care.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Successful completion of a Bachelor of Nursing qualification or equivalent
  • Registration as a Registered Nurse/Midwife in Australia
  • Effective organisational skills, with respect to time management and delegation
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to practice collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary health care team
  • Skills and experience to work in a High Dependency Special Care Nursery and NICU
  • Post graduate qualification in neonatal intensive care or equivalent
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage people

Desirable

  • Post graduate in project management or working towards same
