About the Role
The Department of Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine at Western Health provides services for more than 30,000 Surgical procedures and more than 5,500 deliveries a year. With the exception of Cardiac, all surgical specialities are represented. In addition, the Anaesthetic Department runs a busy acute and chronic pain service, teaching program and is actively involved in ongoing research and audit.
The Department employs 36 Registrars at any one time - rotating through the North Western and Southern Rotational Programs and Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine Training Schemes.
The Department has sixteen (16) training positions available for provisional fellows and/or anaesthesia trainees not affiliated with a Victorian rotational training program and with a minimum of 24 months accredited experience in anaesthesia in Australia or Overseas. PFYs are selected up to a maximum of 4 full year equivalent positions although we will consider 6 month fellowships also.
