Western Health has now been established an independent Renal Dialysis Service for many years. The Renal Service provides a comprehensive suite of services ranging from pre-dialysis education and management, acute and maintenance dialysis, education and support for home dialysis, training and research opportunities. Sunshine Hospital Dialysis Unit is an established service that has undergone rapid growth and dynamic change, underpinning a strong nursing philosophy.

Sunshine Dialysis Unit had moved to a new purpose built facility at Sunshine Hospital 2 years ago. We have a busy unit 15 chair capacity operating 3 patient shifts per day with isolation capabilities. The facility is open at 07:00 through to 23:30. Currently we can offer mainly 12 hour day shifts and rotate through to evening shifts at 6 hours shift durations.

Last year the Renal Service at Sunshine Dialysis Unit commenced operating an acute dialysis service, supporting critical care services and inpatient activity at Sunshine Hospital. At the present moment we are operating one shift to cover the day hours of 07:30-16:00 and 08:00-16:30.

You will be required to work at Sunshine Dialysis across rotating shifts and to work both acute and chronic dialysis, there will be the capacity to train in acute should this not be part of your portfolio.

This positon offers minimum 0.4 and up to, total of 0.8 RN EFT.
