Position Summary
  • Join our small night duty team in a busy 6 theatre suite
  • Provide support to the NUM and work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Be part of the team to move to the New Footscray Hospital in 2025
  • Must be proficient in Anaesthetics and PACU

Footscray Theatres are seeking an Associate Nurse Unit Manager with outstanding clinical and and interpersonal skills who demonstrates a willingness to develop and maintain their own knowledge and skills and encourage others to do so. This role will include opportunity to rotate on to day shifts to further enhance skills and education.

Duties include:

  • Providing clinical care - Anaesthetic/PACU
  • Co-ordination of out of hours theatre list
  • Preparation for next days elective lists
  • Shift management
  • Working collaboratively with NUM and leadership team
  • Promote ongoing learning and education for all staff in the unit
  • Ensure safe and high quality patient care
  • Follow Western Health values and policies
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support change management

Essential Criteria

  • Must have minimum 3 years Anaesthetic and PACU experience
  • Must have current registration as a Registered Nurse in Australia
  • Successful completion of relevant post-graduate qualification
  • Possess excellent clinical and organizational skills
  • Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Currently working in Perioperative area
