Position Summary

About the Role

We are seeking an ANUM who is passionate about Perioperative Nursing to join and lead our team.  The position is permanent full-time, Monday to Friday. For this role you will need excellent clinical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively. Williamstown provides perioperative care to a variety of specialties including; orthopaedics, plastics, vascular, urology, ENT and general surgery. Experience in these areas is highly desirable. The Associate Nurse Unit Manager will assist the Nurse Unit Manager in the course of their duties to ensure the provision of nursing care. They will also contribute to the decisions that shape our health service. The role also includes the floor co-ordination of a 4 theatre complex, recovery room and admission area; facilitating patient flow. The ANUM will also provide clinical expertise, with scrub/scout being the primary focus. The promotion of on-going education for all the staff in the unit is also an essential component of the role.

 

To be successful in this role you should have:

  • Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
  • A minimum of 5 years perioperative experience (including scrub/scout)
  • Have a commitment to high quality, safe and person centred care
  • Demonstrates clinical leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively
  • Be innovative, resourceful and adaptable to change
  • Possess excellent clinical and organisation skill, ideally with leadership/ management experience
  • Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal
  • Possess highly developed inter-personal skills, including conflict management
