About the Role

An exciting opportunity for a 0.84 FTE Permanent ANUM position ongoing on the children's ward.

The Associate Nurse Unit Manager fulfils the roles and responsibilities of the Registered Nurse, demonstrating expert knowledge and skills while assuming a prominent management focus in the ward/unit.

The Associate Nurse Unit Manager is an integral member of the ward/unit management team, assisting the Nurse Unit Manager in the course of their duties to ensure provision of nursing/midwifery care that is excellent in quality and consistently patient centred while achieving effective operational management of the clinical environment.

Duties

  • Manage the area as nurse in charge on a shift by shift basis
  • Facilitating patient flow through the areas
  • Working collaboratively with the nurse unit manager to manage the unit and staff
  • Promote ongoing learning and education for all staff in the unit
  • Ensure safe and high quality patient care is delivered in line with Western Health values and policies

Essential Criteria

  • Successful completion of a Bachelor of Nursing qualification
  • Minimum of 2 years working within Paediatrics
  • Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
  • Have a commitment to high quality, safe and person centred patient care
  • Demonstrates clinical leadership skills and an ability to work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary framework
  • Be innovative, resourceful and adaptable to change
  • Possess excellent clinical and organisation skills, ideally a minimum of 3-5 years nursing experience
  • Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal
