Western Health manages three acute public hospitals: Footscray, Sunshine and Williamstown Hospital. It also operates the Sunbury Day Hospital, Transition Care at Hazeldean and a range of community based services. We care for a culturally diverse population of more than 800,000 people. Our continued growth will see the completion of a new purpose built, multi-storey Joan Kirner Women's and Children's Hospital.
About the Role
Western Health has a number of HMO3 (PGY3) general positions commencing February 2019 for 12 months.
Western Health offers rotations in the General Streams tailored to suit those intending to pursue a career in General Practice, Emergency Training and the possibility of O&G rotations for Diploma in Obstetrics are also available.
Rotations in the following specialties are options on offer however are subject to change:
- Aged Care
- Emergency Medicine
- Geriatric Eval & Mng (GEM)
- Nephrology
- General Medicine & other Medical Specialties
- Obstetrics & Gynaecology
- Paediatric Ward
- Psychiatry
- Rehabilitation
- Nights / Relieving
The position is available to medical practitioners who have completed at least 2 years post graduate degree. Past working experience within the Australian Medical Hospital System for at least two (2) years is highly desirable.
If you wish to apply you must meet the Mandatory Criteria as noted below:
Australian Trained Medical Graduates: General Registration with AHPRA and who have completed a minimum of 2 years full time medical employment post MBBS graduation
International Medical Graduates: Limited / General Registration with AHPRA and who have completed a minimum of 2 years full time medical employment in Australia (desirable). Must have passed AMC MCQ Part 1 and achieved a ranking of 7 or above in IELTs (listening, reading, writing and speaking)

The completed form is to be returned via email to wh-mwu.enquiries@wh.org.au as close as possible to the nominated closing date as this is a very important step in the shortlisting process.
