About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for a Grade 2 Allied Health Assistant to work within a large team providing quality care for clients in the Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) service at Western Health. Community Based Rehabilitation provides quality rehabilitation services across Sub-acute and Ambulatory Care Services (SACS).
The successful applicant will be part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team offering centre and home based therapy under the direction of physiotherapists.
This is an ongoing position that is well supported; team focused and has ongoing professional development.
- Temporary, Full Time (80 hour fortnight) ceasing February 2019
Duties
- Work individually and with treating therapists to deliver safe and effective individual programs, in the centre and home based settings, for clients with a variety of acute and chronic conditions including:
- Musculoskeletal
- Neurological
- Cardiorespiratory
- Deliver a variety of centre based group and hydrotherapy programs, including relevant adminstraion
- Supervise undergraduate allied health assistants as indicated
- Be proactive about identifying and addressing issues that interfere with patients receiving Best Care through the physiotherapy quality program
- Ensure safe and high quality patient care is delivered in line with Western Health values and policies
- Participate in relevant working groups and meetings as required
- Ensure that workload statistics, and other required information is entered in a timely and accurate manner
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Allied Health Assistant Certificate III or equivalent
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced Computer literacy
- Commitment to continuing professional development
- Demonstrated understanding of manual handling risk reduction
- A commitment to high quality, safe and person centred care.
- Current Victorian driver’s licence
Desirable
- Allied Health Assistant Certificate IV
- Prior experience in a similar work environment.
