Position Summary

Outstanding candidates are encouraged to apply for an exciting opportunity in a new senior hospital pharmacy management role. 

The Deputy Director of Pharmacy, Quality and Informatics leads and manages the operational delivery of the following pharmacy services across Western Health: Informatics, Quality Use of Medicines, Capital Planning and Workforce.  The proportions of the role that are expected to be allocated to these services are 50%, 30%, 15% and 5% respectively.

As a successful candidate you will commence at an exciting time as Western Health extends its digital maturity towards a fully digital hospital.  You will have the opportunity to lead the development and implementation of robotic and automation solutions and associated systems redesign for medication management. You will also work with the Director of Pharmacy and the Chief Pharmacy Informatics Officer to contribute to the digital strategic capabilities and vision at Western Health to support seamless digital integration between EMR and all other digital applications. This will involve strategic thinking, optimising clinical workflows and implementing strategic objectives to innovate and standardise practices and processes that support the Pharmacy department, and Western Health

You will also play a key leadership role in network wide medication safety risk identification and mitigation along and you will also coordinate key pharmacy service portfolios; Perioperative, Antimicrobial Stewardship, Education, Medicines Information and Clinical trial supply services.

You will coordinate pharmacy service involvement in large scale capital planning developments including new pharmacy departments and new hospitals.

Selection Criteria Essential: Current registration as a practicing pharmacist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
Essential: Previous experience in the implementation of electronic systems in a hospital environment
Essential: Proven ability to implement change within a complex environment
Essential: Experience in a senior management position, with demonstrated understanding of contemporary practice in hospital pharmacy services, drug therapy and health care administration.
