About the Role

Western Health seeks Security Industry Professionals who wish to join a dynamic team at the forefront of providing a safe and secure environment for patients, staff and visitors.

We are seeking Casual Security Officers with 24/7 availability to work across our sites at Sunshine, Footscray & Williamstown Hospitals.

Interacting with a culturally diverse range of customers you will be able to demonstrate the Western Health values of Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Excellence & Safety. In effect you will deliver a safe and secure environment for our patients, staff and visitors.

In order to be successful, you will have:

  • Successfully completed Certificate II Security Guard / Crowd Controller and hold, at minimum, a Victorian Security Guard (unarmed) category licence
  • A current Working with Children Check – Employee Status
  • A current Workplace First Aid Certificate
  • A current Drivers Licence.
  • Current knowledge of Victorian legislation relevant to your role as a Security Officer
  • Current knowledge of emergency equipment such as Fire Extinguishers
  • The ability to focus on customer service when dealing with staff, patients and visitors
  • A strong personal work ethic, initiative and service orientation
  • A courteous and professional manner
  • Demonstrated skills in communicating effectively with people
  • A willingness to work under the direction of nursing employees and Management
  • An ability to work as a team member in a multidisciplinary environment
  • An ability to work in a self-directed manner and prioritise workload
  • English literacy and numeracy skills in line with the competency requirements for Certificate II Security Guarding
  • Ability to maintain accurate and concise documentation
  • A high level of physical fitness and personal presentation
  • Competence in operation of PCs and the ability to use the Outlook, Word, Excel programs

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a healthcare environment
  • Previous experience with Security Systems (CCTV and Access Control)
  • Previous experience with Emergency Equipment (Fire Panel)
  • Multi-Lingual
