About the Role

Seeking a motivated pharmacist with excellent clinical, dispensary and interpersonal skills that demonstrates a willingness to develop and maintain their knowledge, to work in the Western Health Pharmacy Service.

  • Casual position available now.
  • Business hours are 8.15am to 5pm Monday to Friday and 8.30am to 12.30pm weekends and public holidays (closed Christmas Day).
  • Contribute to the decisions that shape our health service.
  • Provide dispensing and clinical services to patients and clients of Western Health.
  • Support of the dispensary manager and clinical co-ordinator.

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven and enthusiastic pharmacist to join the pharmacy team and develop and extend their hospital pharmacy experience in a range of areas including dispensary and ward pharmacy services to a variety of areas such as general medicine and surgery, respiratory, cardiology, gastroenterology, neurology, infectious diseases, renal, oncology and ICU. Applicants must be flexible and willing to work across the various campuses of Western Health as required.


  • To ensure patient outcomes are optimized by working with other health professionals to deliver the best Quality Use of Medicine
  • Providing clinical and dispensing services in accordance to SHPA standards of practice and legislative requirements
  • Participate in teaching and mentoring of pharmacy pre-registrants and undergraduate students
  • Contribute to education, training and quality activities

Skills & Experience

  • Current pharmacist registration with AHPRA
  • Permanent resident or citizen of Australia
  • Possess excellent clinical & organisational skills
  • Ability to be proactive and work responsibly independently
  • Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal & communication skills
  • Good information technology skills

Selection Criteria Desirable: Do you have experience as a registered pharmacist in a hospital pharmacy setting?
Desirable: Do you have sound knowledge and understanding of all relevant aspects of pharmacy services, in particular, a demonstrated ability to practice in accordance with SHPA Guidelines
Desirable: Do you have well developed information technology skills, in particular, knowledge of word processing software programs and Merlin Dispensing Program?
Desirable: Do you have a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree or equivalent?
Desirable: Are you registered with or eligible to be registered with AHPRA?
