About the Role

  • PERIOPERATIVE DISCOVERY PROGRAM
  • COMMENCING 26 AUGUST 2019

Theatre Discovery endeavours to provide base core knowledge within a clinical environment for the development of specialised Peri Operative Nurses. This follows Western Health’s focus on Best Care to ensure the values of Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Excellence and Safety are upheld.

Positions exist at Joan Kirner Woman’s and Children’s Hospital and Footscray Hospital Theatres for Registered Nurses Division One interested in an Anaesthetic / PACU OR Instrument/ Circulating stream of the Perioperative Discovery Program. All positions will commence with a one day orientation on Monday 26th of August 2019.

This six month position will see participants initially working day shifts with the potential to work evening shifts depending on the acquired skills and knowledge.

The Discovery position is classified within Grade 2 Year 1-10 as appropriate and successful applicants are required to work full time during this period to complete clinical requirements. Please nominate your preferred campus and stream in your application.

Formal clinical appraisal, theoretical coursework and assessments of competency skills are undertaken throughout the course and further information regarding theoretical and assessment requirements can be found at:
