About the Role

A full time temporary Grade 3 dietitian position (12 month mat leave backfill) has become available at Footscray Hospital for a suitably experienced and dynamic dietitian.

The position is clinically responsible for ICU, Head and Neck Plastics and Orthopaedics inpatient units. Experience in Critical Care Nutrition including Total Parenteral Nutrition is essential for this position.

A major responsibility of this role is leading the clinical operations of inpatient nutrition services. This includes but is not limited to; day to day responsibilities for inpatient staffing, workload management and planning, clinical supervision and teaching.
There is significant opportunity to lead and participate in the quality and research projects for the Nutrition service and student supervision program.

Duties

  • Adopt a role as the clinical operations lead of inpatient nutrition services at Footscray Hospital
  • Manage the clinical caseload of the inpatient units, as above
  • Will have a role in ensuring excellence in safe and effective patient care in line with Western Health values and policies
  • Will also include responsibilities in quality improvement, teaching and research

Skills & Experience OR Essential Criteria

  • A Bachelor degree of Nutrition and Dietetics (or equivalent)
  • Eligible for membership of Dietitians Association of Australia
  • Demonstrate independent clinical reasoning and clinical competencies in the area of practice
  • Experience in areas clinically relevant to the position
  • Preferably 7 years’ experience
