About the Role
Applications are now open for Non-Accredited Plastic Surgery Registrars looking to work in a hospital in the Melbourne Geelong Non-Accredited Plastic Surgery Registrar Match.
For appointments for 2019 these hospitals will include:
- Austin Health
- Barwon Health
- Melbourne Health
- Monash Health
- Peninsula Health
- Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre
- Western Health
An application to this match can be considered an application to all the positions of the hospitals in the match.
Applicants shortlisted for interview will be invited to nominate as many or as few preferences as they wish for the hospitals in the match. An applicant's ranking in the match will be based on a combination of their CV, referee reports, on the job performance, and interview. Matching will be carried out having regard to the applicant's ranking, and the workforce requirements of: the job position, the Plastic Surgery Unit, and the Health Network.
The Plastic Surgery Unit at Western Health treats patients requiring Plastic and Reconstructive surgery, hand surgery, skin cancer management, head and neck reconstruction, microsurgery, breast reconstruction and peripheral nerve surgery. Outpatient Clinics are held for adult and paediatric Plastic Surgery with consultant Plastic Surgeons, as well as Dressings clinics led by registrars.
Outpatient and Dressings clinics occur at Sunshine and Footscray Hospitals, with surgery being undertaken across all three campuses (Sunshine, Williamstown and Footscray).
The Plastic Surgery Unit is staffed by 10 VMO Plastic Surgeons and 4 Registrars. The Registrars include two (2) RACS appointed positions, one (1) general surgery trainee (2 x 6 month rotations), and one (1) Hospital appointed Registrar for a 12 month position in Plastic Surgery.
