Grade 3 Permanent Full-Time Pharmacist – Medicines Governance (80 hours per fortnight) – Position Available Now
Western Health is seeking an experienced, highly motivated and dynamic Grade 3 Pharmacist to provide expert professional knowledge and leadership for our expanding pharmacy service. This role presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to the clinical and operational activities of the Pharmacy Department.

Do you have an interest and experience in Pharmacy PBS management, Drug and Therapeutics Committee activities and Policies, Procedures and Guidelines review coordination? Then this role is perfect for you and is supported with a clinical roster day to maintain and further develop your clinical pharmacy skills.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the management of PBS operations as well as ensuring that the PBS claim is efficiently managed. In addition, the successful applicant will be an active member of the Drug and Therapeutics Committee by coordinating its activities as well as coordinating the review of policies and procedures where pharmacy is a stakeholder.
To be Successful in this Role you
- Need broad experience in providing clinical pharmacy services to a range of specialty areas
- Will have an excellent understanding of hospital PBS claiming and claim management
- Will need well-developed word processing, spread-sheet and database software skills
- Need experience in efficient financial management and ability to control drug expenditure
- Must have well-developed written, oral, interpersonal, communication, negotiation and conflict management skills and the ability to co-operate with hospital staff and patients
- Must have excellent time management skills, the capability to meet multiple time constraints and to determine workload priorities in order to complete targets by the set deadline
