About the Role
- Permanent, Full/Part Time at Sunshine Hospital
- Assists the Midwife Unit Manager in the course of their duties to ensure provision of nursing/midwifery care
- Contribute to the decisions that shape our health service
Seeking an Associate Midwife Unit Manager (ANUM) to rotate through Pregnancy Care Centre, the Birthing unit and postnatal wards, who demonstrates expert knowledge and skills while assuming a prominent management focus in the ward/unit.
Duties
- Manage the area as midwife in charge on a shift by shift basis
- Facilitating patient flow through the areas
- working collaboratively with the midwife unit manager to manage the unit and staff
- Promote ongoing learning and education for all staff in the unit
- Ensure safe and high quality patient care is delivered in line with Western Health values and policies
Skills & Experience OR Essential Criteria
- Successful completion of a Bachelor of Midwifery qualification
- Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Midwife
- Have a commitment to high quality, safe and person centred patient care
- Demonstrates clinical leadership skills and an ability to work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary framework
- Be innovative, resourceful and adaptable to change
- Possess excellent clinical and organisation skills, ideally a minimum of 3-5 years midwifery experience
- Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal
- Level 3 in RANZCOG fetal surveillance education program practitioner level
