Position Summary

Are you a Medical Student looking to work as a Casual Clinical Assistant in a hospital setting?

In the Clinical Assistant role you will support busy clinical units by performing a range of duties to ensure the clinical operations of the Unit function smoothly.

Under the supervision and support of the assigned area you will undertake duties such as:

  • Performing temperature checks on visitors/staff on entry
  • Conducting simple follow-up of test results by telephone or electronic method
  • Scribing and documentation in ward rounds/clinics/discharge planning including paper and electronic means
  • Performing phlebotomy, under supervision and if able/skills are appropriate
  • General hands on assistance to staff as needed 

This role will see you undertake competency and hands-on training prior to and during your employment along with workload flexibility and shift availability to align with your current student workload.
