Position Summary |
Applications are invited from suitably qualified dietitians for a full time 12 month mat leave backfill Grade 2 dietitian. This position is responsible for the nutrition management of Nephrology patients across many areas of the Western Health renal service. Based at Sunshine Hospital, this will include acute inpatients under the nephrology unit and acute start dialysis patients. You will be involved in clinical care of dialysis dependent patients at Sunshine Hospital Chronic Dialysis Unit. You may be required to assist with other chronic dialysis units eg. Sunbury day hospital.
You will also be involved in renal outpatient clinics and home therapies together with management of a nephrologist led outpatient clinic and a nutrition led CKD clinic. In addition to this, you will be required to assist with other acute inpatient areas and supervise students.
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic dietitian to join a cohesive and integrated team, committed to excellence in clinical practice, research and professional development. Must have, or be currently eligible for, membership of Dietitians Association of Australia.
To be Successful in this Role you
- Have acute clinical experience
- Have experience in managing renal patients
- Highly desirable to have experience managing renal patients in a variety of settings such as acute, chronic dialysis units, home therapies, outpatients.
- Highly desirable to have supervised students
- Highly desirable to have participated in professional development in the area of renal nutrition
