An exciting opportunity is available for a highly motivated, experienced intensive care nurse to join the leadership team at Sunshine Intensive Care. The associate nurse unit manager (ANUM) is primarily responsible for the day to day running of the unit, ensuring a high standard of patient care is provided and safe patient flow within the unit to give timely care for our patients and their families.  The ANUM is also responsible for attending or allocating a suitable staff member to respond to medical emergencies and calls for help after hours.

As an ANUM, you will work closely with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) to provide a safe working environment for staff, patients and their families whilst ensuring the highest standard of patient care is being delivered in line with Western Health’s values and policies.  Sunshine ICU has a strong emphasis on promoting positive workplace culture and is involved in numerous quality improvement projects within Western Health and its community which is also involved in the ANUM role.

To be successful in this role, you will need to:

  • Hold a current AHPRA registration
  • Have completed a post graduate qualification in critical/intensive care nursing or (with at least 3 years post graduate experience) or,
  • Extensive experience in ICU at CNS level
  • Be passionate about patient care and achieving high quality clinical outcomes.
  • Be a positive role model and have strong clinical and interpersonal skills.
  • Be accountable and demonstrate a strong, supportive and engaging style.
  • Be a team player

Previous management experience would be advantageous but not essential.
