Our continued growth has seen the addition of a new purpose built, multi-storey Joan Kirner Women's and Children's at Sunshine Hospital.
About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an appropriately skilled obstetrician or senior registrar (Level 6 equivalent) to join the dynamic multidisciplinary Maternal Fetal Medicine Unit at Sunshine Hospital.
The MFM unit provides maternity care for the most complex patients including the full range of fetal and maternal medical disorders. This full time position will provide inpatient and outpatient services within the unit. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to combine ultrasound scanning with patient consultation in a range of different high risk settings including multiple pregnancies, cervical surveillance, fetal medicine, maternal medicine and postnatal and pre-pregnancy counselling. The unit is supported by an established Genetics and Fetal cardiology service. A Level 6A nursery supported by full time neonatologists will be established by 2020. The Sunshine Maternal Fetal Medicine Unit actively participates in a range of national and international multicentred trials and has ample research opportunities to support the training and career ambitions of an MFM fellow. Although not formally accredited as an MFM training site, prospective approval for CMFM training with RANZCOG may be available to suitable applicants. This unique opportunity will provide the successful applicant(s) with an opportunity to see for themselves why Sunshine Hospital and the Maternal Fetal Medicine Unit are rapidly heading towards being the fourth tertiary maternity service in Victoria.
