Our Renal Services at Western Health are seeking highly motivated Registered Nurses to join our team.  Our Renal Services provides a large range of services including dialysis, consisting of inpatient and outpatient services. Renal Services at Western Health operates at a variety of sites, including satellite services at Sunshine, Williamstown and Sunbury and is currently offering the following exciting opportunities:

The below selection criteria applies to all vacancies listed:

  • Successful completion of Bachelor of Nursing
  • Registration with AHPRA
  • Knowledge and experience within a Dialysis unit
  • Minimum 12 months working experience within an Australian hospital setting (not including placements)
  • Demonstrate the ability to practice collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • A commitment to high quality and ongoing to maintain a culture of patient centred care.
  • Excellent and effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work a rotating roster
  • Possess excellent clinical skills

Registered Nurse – Dialysis
Permanent Full Time / Part Time
 We are seeking a highly passionate and experienced dialysis Registered Nurse for this rewarding yet dynamic opportunity in our established and comprehensive dialysis service located at either the Sunshine campus

The Sunshine Dialysis Unit comprises of 15 chronic dialysis chairs that are utilised over 3 shifts from 0700hrs - 2330hrs.  There are 9 acute/subacute inpatient chairs within the Hospital.   The dialysis registered nurse will be a crucial part of the busy team in the Dialysis unit providing high quality patient care and striving to achieve the highest standards in clinical practise, teaching and research. This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic team and work in both acute and chronic dialysis units at the Sunshine Unit only.

To be successful this role you will have:                

  • Knowledge and Experience within  a dialysis unit
  • Effective organisational skills with respect to time management and delegation
  • Demonstrated ability to practice collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary health care team
  • A commitment to high quality, safe and person centred patient care


  • Recent post-grad certification in renal nursing would be looked on favourably
  • Experience in an acute dialysis setting would be preferred but not essential

Registered Nurse – Dialysis
Permanent Full Time / Permanent Part Time

The Williamstown Dialysis Unit is seeking a highly motivated, caring, compassionate and experienced registered nurse to join our management team on a Permanent Full Time / Part time basis.

Williamstown dialysis unit is a 14 chair facility that is attached to Williamstown hospital under Western Health, where we cater the needs for chronic dialysis patients. Footscray Hospital dialysis caters to the needs of acute dialysis patients who are predominantly inpatients and require complex care needs. This position requires staff to work in both campuses. 

We work collaboratively with nursing, medical, allied health and community organisations to ensure that the patients and their families have the best possible experience at Williamstown.


To be successful in this role you will require:

  • Flexibility in working between campuses the Williamstown and Footscray units.
  • Relevant clinical experience and post graduate qualifications
  • A commitment to high quality, safe and person centred patient care
  • Demonstrate highly developed communication skills, written, verbal and electronic
  • Experience in an acute Dialysis setting  - Desirable
  • Highly developed conflict resolution and interpersonal skills
  • Be resourceful and innovative as part of a multi-disciplinary team

Western Health

Bank nurses at Western Health are managed by the Nursing and Midwifery Workforce Unit (NMWU) and are able to work across a variety of wards at Western Health. Bank nurses are required to be available a minimum of one shift a fortnight and are able to pick up shift vacancies as they arise. Shift vacancies are sent out by our allocations team and work opportunities and shift offers will depend on the organisations vacancies each day. Working on Bank provides nurses a great opportunity to develop and expand their clinical skills and to experience a variety of different work places.

  • Able to commit to a minimum of one shift a fortnight
  • Willing to work across a variety of clinical settings and wards at Western Health
