Position Summary

Western Health is currently undergoing a transformation and there are a number of mental health related developments so that patients who present with mental health issues get the right support, sooner and in an appropriate environment. The Project officer will support the Service Development & Operations Manager - Mental Health with the development of the models of care as well including but not limited to the development of policies, procedures and guidelines, project documentation, staff training tools and resources.

The Mental Health Project Officer is a leadership and capacity building role. It is preferable for the applicant to have mental health training, qualifications and experience.

To be Successful in this Role you

  • Will lead the development and maintenance of a supportive and collegial work environment and foster a working environment that facilitates a collaborative approach amongst the Western Health employees and various partner services.
  • Will identify and monitor specific performance measures for work conducted within the project.
  • Will seek wider consumer feedback on all project ideas, findings and plans, prior to implementation
  • Will actively engage and recruit stakeholders for effective project planning, implementation and evaluation, taking into consideration the breadth of potential stakeholders available
  • Will plan and support delivery of in-service education sessions, seminars and workshops within Western Health as well as external conferences as appropriate
  • Will utilise research and critical appraisal skills to support the implementation of evidenced based mental health and AOD patient care.

They will support the Operations Manager in the preparation of data, reports, presentations and other documents as required.
