About the Role
An opportunity exists for an entry level position in diagnostic radiology physics as part of a small, motivated team that deliver a clinical diagnostic imaging medical physics service.
The role is a full-time, three year fixed-term position as a Grade 1 level medical physicist.
The training role will be split across several campuses, primarily at Footscray and Sunshine campuses (typically three days per week), as well as regular attendance (up to two days per week) at Barwon Health, University Hospital in Geelong and other regional healthcare sites throughout western and northern Victoria.
The DIMP registrar will enrol in the Australasian College of Physical Scientists and Engineers in Medicine (ACPSEM) DIMP Training Education and Assessment Program (TEAP) program with the aim to complete the training within the three-year employment period.
Essential selection criteria:
- Due to the limited three-year duration of the training programme, the selected candidate will hold an ACPSEM accredited Medical Physics MSc degree or be on-track for completion of this degree within 6-months of appointment.
- Self motivated independent worker
- Highly developed interpersonal, written and electronic communication skills
- Superior organisational skills and ability to work as part of a team
Western Health sites are 10-20 minutes from Melbourne’s CBD, Barwon Health sites are ~60 minutes from Melbourne’s CBD. Occasional travel to regional healthcare sites across western and northern Victoria is expected.
