Registered Nurse – Emergency Department
Williamstown
Permanent Part Time – 64 Hrs per Fortnight.

An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated, and proactive emergency nurse to join the team at Williamstown Emergency Department.  A dynamic emergency department, you will have full support from not only an amazing ED team but a wonderful network of staff at Williamstown Hospital.  In addition, education and support to upskill to achieve Advanced Life Support Certificate and competency as a Triage Nurse. We pride ourselves in providing for the community on a daily basis.  The emergency department is open from 0800 – 2300 7 days per week.

Williamstown Hospital is a 90 bed facility providing emergency services, surgical services, rehabilitation and geriatric evaluation and management services, renal dialysis services and community rehabilitation and transition care services.  The Heart of Williamstown Project was completed with thanks to the generosity of the community by raising $2.5million.  The new internal light filled space overlooking landscaped courtyards is for all to access and enjoy.

To be successful for this role you will have:

  • Post Graduate Emergency or Critical Care Nursing is Highly desirable
  • Demonstrated proficiency in a variety of information technology.
  • Demonstrated ability to practice collaboratively as part of a multi – disciplinary health care team.

Registered Nurse – Dialysis
Sunbury or Sunshine or Williamstown Campus*

An exciting opportunity to join the Dialysis Unit at Sunshine or Sunbury Campus. The Registered Nurse - Grade 2 is offered on a Permanent Part Time.

We are seeking a highly passionate and experienced dialysis Registered Nurse for this rewarding yet dynamic opportunity in our established and comprehensive dialysis service located at either the Sunbury or Sunshine campus

Sunbury Dialysis Unit:
The Sunbury Day Medical Unit is a 12 chair haemodialysis and infusion service that are utilised over 2 shifts from 0700hrs-20.30hrs.   Currently the unit has 9 dedicated dialysis chairs utilised morning and afternoon shifts. Allocation of 3 day medical chairs, 1 day per week dedicated to patients requiring infusions or transfusions.

Sunshine Dialysis Unit:
The Sunshine Dialysis Unit comprises of 15 chronic dialysis chairs that are utilised over 3 shifts from 0700hrs - 2330hrs.  There are 9 acute/subacute inpatient chairs within the Hospital.   The dialysis registered nurse will be a crucial part of the busy team in the Dialysis unit providing high quality patient care and striving to achieve the highest standards in clinical practise, teaching and research. This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic team and work in both acute and chronic dialysis units at the Sunshine Unit only
As a dialysis registered nurse you will work closely with the ANUM to provide safe environment for staff and patients and a positive work culture and be a part of departmental quality improvements for the service. 

Williamstown Dialysis Unit
The Dialysis Unit at Williamstown are seeking a highly motivated and experienced registered nurse for this rewarding, yet dynamic nursing opportunity in the newly established and comprehensive Williamstown dialysis service.  This Registered Nurse position is a Temporary Part Time, (32 hours per fortnight). The position requires you to have a minimum of 1 year haemodialysis experience and you will work within the chronic unit and also rotating through the acute dialysis services based at Footscray.

Williamstown dialysis unit is a satellite dialysis unit attached to Williamstown hospital under western health, where we cater the needs for chronic dialysis patients. Footscray Hospital dialysis caters to the needs of acute dialysis patients who are predominantly inpatients and require complex care needs. This position requires staff to work in both campuses.

To be successful for any of the Dialysis role you will have:

 Essential:          

  • Knowledge and Experience within  a dialysis unit
  • Effective organisational skills with respect to time management and delegation
  • Demonstrated ability to practice collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary health care team
  • A commitment to high quality, safe and person centred patient care

Desirable:

  • Recent post-grad certification in renal nursing would be looked on favourably
  • Experience in an acute dialysis setting would be preferred but not essential

Day Oncology Unit – Cancer Nurse - BANK

The Chemotherapy Day Unit (CDU) is looking for experienced and enthusiastic Oncology Trained Registered Nurses on a casual basis (BANK).  The CDU operates from Monday to Friday from 0800-1730hrs. The treatment area includes 15 chemotherapy chairs and a procedure room with 2 recovery bays for oncology related invasive procedures.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Experience in IVC/CVAD/chemo is essential for this role
  • Chemotherapy competency (eviQ 8 x ADAC modules preferred)
  • Experience administering chemotherapy
  • Ability to work 0800-1630 and 0900-1730 shifts

The Dermatology Unit at Western Health Footscray Campus has an exciting opportunity for a Dermatology Nurse who is compassionate, caring and highly motivated to join the team.

The Unit consists of a team of dermatologists and a dermatology registrar (Australian College of Dermatology training program).  There is an outpatient consult service throughout the week and a procedure and outpatient clinics are offered on Friday afternoons at the Footscray Campus.

You will have a commitment to high quality, safe and person centred patient care.
