Position Summary

Western Health in partnership with Djerriwarrh Community & Education Services and SWC Training has opportunities available now to join our Patient Service Assistant traineeship program.

This extremely successful program was established in 2007 and is now seeking participants.

Successful applicants will need to complete a preparation program delivered by Djerriwarrh Community & Education Services which runs for 9 weeks in which time participants will complete a Certificate II in Community Services. Students will also attend placements at Western Health Hospitals during this time.

Following the preparation program participants may be offered a 12 month traineeship employment opportunity within the Health Support Services division at Western Health. The traineeship role will provide you with 12 months employment and on-the-job training whilst completing a Certificate III in Health Services Assistance – HLT 33115

Many of the past participants who have gained and completed a traineeship have successfully applied for ongoing casual, part-time or fulltime employment within Western Health.

Places are limited and eligibility criterion does apply.

Persons who currently hold a Certificate III level qualification or above will not be eligible for the program.
